What to Plant in August
August is actually the second most ideal gardening season and can be just as successful as spring planting, which is generally regarded as the best time for planting vegetables and herbs.

- Iceland Poppies – will bloom in the spring
- Bluestar plants
- Lillies/Spider lily
Fall Gardening Tips
Before you begin gardening in August, prep your soil and gardening space. Add new mulch and loosen the soil to improve your plants chances to survive and flourish. Make sure to pull all weeds from the surrounding areas where you will be planting – provide room for your plants to grow.
While you’re at the nursery, be sure to look for the best plants. Roots should not be hanging out of the bloom and healthy foliage should be overwhelmingly visible.
Henta Landscape Mats, Landscape Pots and Group N’ Scoops pamper and protect your lawn while also making the perfect bed for some fall flowers or edible plants to grow in.
